GoBuid offers two types of seats: Full and Light. Each seat type determines the features a member can access, regardless of their role (e.g., even a Project Manager with a Light Seat will have limited access).

What Happens When You Change a Seat Type?

🔻 Assigning a Light Seat

When a member is downgraded to a Light Seat:

  • 🧩 All of their Project Roles will become Light Worker

These roles are fixed for Light Seat members and cannot be customized.

🔼 Upgrading to a Full Seat

When a member is upgraded to a Full Seat:

  • ✅ Their existing Project Roles will be preserved
  • No automatic changes will be made.

⚠️ Prices are billed monthly. Volume discounts are available for Full Seats in the Pro Plus Plan

🧑‍💼 How to Purchase

  • Full Seat: Purchase through the Admin Console (by adding more Pro/Pro Plus seats)
  • Light Seat: Contact our Sales team to purchase Light seats

If your group includes any Light Seat members, self-service upgrade is not supported due to system limitations.

To upgrade your plan, please contact our team — we’ll help you set up a custom upgrade option based on your current seat mix.


Alternatively, if you prefer to use only Full Seats, you can convert all Light Seat members to Full Seat and proceed with self-service upgrade.

📌 Assignment Rules

  • Every member must be assigned a seat (Full or Light)
  • Seat Type can be changed anytime if there’s available capacity

🔄 Upgrading or Downgrading Seats

GoBuid allows seat type changes (Full ↔ Light) for each member. However, when the change takes effect depends on your billing plan and whether you’re increasing or decreasing the number of seats:

📆 Monthly Plan

  • Upgrades (adding seats): Changes take effect immediately. Billing will be adjusted in the next invoice.
  • Downgrades (reducing seats): Changes will take effect at the next renewal date. Immediate downgrades are not supported due to refund limitations.

📆 Annual Plan

  • Upgrades (adding seats): Changes take effect immediately. Charges will be prorated.
  • Downgrades (reducing seats): Changes will take effect at the next renewal date, similar to monthly plans.

Example: If you're on an annual plan and reduce from 3 Full to 2 Full seats, the change will apply on your next renewal.


What If You Run Out of Seats?

If there are no available seats:

  • You cannot invite new members
  • You cannot switch a member’s seat type
  • You must remove or reassign existing users to free up seats

Let Admins exchange seat types between two users without needing an extra seat.
