5. Create a purchase requisition
Create a Budget Request when you need to request material usage under a Budget Code. Budget Requests help the team control material usage before it is approved and counted against the budget.
You can create Budget Requests from Projects > a project > Budget.

Before you create a request
Make sure the correct Budget Code already exists. A Budget Request must be linked to one Budget Code.
The quantity must be greater than 1. Attachments are optional.
Create a Budget Request
- Open Projects.
- Select a project.
- Open the Budget tab.
- Select the option to create a Budget Request.
- Select one Budget Code.
- Enter the quantity.
- Enter the use of item.
- Select the receipt date.
- Select approvers and notify users.
- Add attachments if needed.
- Submit the request.
Budget Request fields
A Budget Request includes:
- Budget Code: select one Budget Code.
- Qty: enter the requested quantity. The number must be greater than 1.
- Use of item: describe how the material will be used.
- Receipt Date: select the expected or actual receipt date.
- Approver and Notify: select users who should approve or be notified. Multiple users can be selected.
- Attachment: upload supporting files if needed. This field is optional.
Edit or delete a request
The submitter can edit or delete their Budget Request.
If the submitter edits the Budget Code, Qty, or Receipt Date, the approval flow restarts.
What happens after submission
Submitted Budget Requests appear in the pending request view by default. Users with Budget access can see Budget Requests, but only assigned approvers see the Approve and Decline buttons.
The request is complete only after every assigned approver approves it.
