How material usage is recorded

Material usage is tracked through Budget Codes and Budget Requests.

Each Budget Code has a total quantity and unit. When Budget Requests are approved, GoBuid uses the approved quantities to show how much of the Budget Code has been used.

View Budget Code details

  1. Open Projects.
  2. Select a project.
  3. Open the Budget tab.
  4. Select a Budget Code.
  5. Review the Budget Code detail panel.

The detail panel can show information such as History, Details, Report, and Requests.

Review request history

The Budget Code history helps the team understand what changed and when. It can include request activity, quantity changes, edits, approvals, and other Budget Code updates.

Use the history when you need to check how a Budget Code reached its current usage status.

When usage affects budget status

As approved quantities are recorded, GoBuid updates the Budget Code status:

  • Green: 0-80%
  • Yellow: 81-100%
  • Red: over 100%

When a Budget Code reaches Yellow or Red status, GoBuid sends a notification to the Manager.
